Association for Project Management (APM) training
As an APM Accredited Training Provider, QA offers a training route to both the benchmark APMP qualification and the Introductory Certificate in Project Management (IC). Our approach is to provide delegates with a combination of practical skills development together with the coaching required to pass the examinations, making QA’s project management training a popular choice for hundreds of delegates.
Why undertake APM certification?
The APM is established as the leading professional body for project management in the UK and APM qualifications are accepted throughout the UK as a mark of attaining a recognised level of Project Management knowledge and skills. APM qualifications are aligned to the International Project Management Association (IPMA) competency levels, and as such enjoy international recognition.
What is involved in APM certification?
- APM Introductory Certificate (APMIC) – this qualification is aimed at anyone requiring a basic awareness of project management. The one hour multi-choice examination, based on key sections of the APM’s Body of Knowledge (5th edition), is offered as an option for all those attending QA’s Fundamentals of Project Management course. This highly acclaimed course has benefited over 1,000 delegates in the past 5 years.
- APMP – this is APM’s qualification for existing and aspiring Project Managers which equates to IPMA level D. The three hour long answer examination is based on the APM’s Body of Knowledge (5th edition). QA’s new 5 day APMP Project Management Course provides delegates with comprehensive coverage of the sections of the Body of Knowledge included in the APMP syllabus. There is also an APMP for PRINCE2 Practitioners course that enables current PRINCE2 practitioners to take a fast-track to the APMP exam.
- APM Practitioner Qualification (APMPQ) – this is APM’s assessment-based qualification for experienced Project Managers (3-5 years +) which equates to IPMA level C. The 2.5 day assessment centre puts candidates in a non-complex project scenario where they will need to demonstrate their skills and behaviours against 30 cirteria throughout the project lifecycle and aligned with the APM’s Body of Knowledge (5th edition).
- APM Risk Levels 1 & 2 – This course covers the benefits of managing project risks, the principles including the process and its application, organisational and control aspects. The exam syllabus is primarily based on the APM BoK, the APM PRAM Guide, and BS6079 Parts 1 & 3.
