Overview

This four-day accredited course provides participants with a thorough grounding in the DSDM®Atern® Agile approach and is comprised of three main elements.

The first provides an overview of the Agile family of approaches and covers:

  • What is Agile? Choosing the right Agile approach
  • Agile Project Management - The Basics
  • Roles and Responsibilities

The second element looks at setting up an Agile project and covers:

  • Agile Project Management
  • The Agile Project Management Process and Products
  • Communication

The third element deals with delivering a DSDM®Atern® project and covers:

  • Prioritization and Timeboxing
  • Agile Control
  • Requirements, Estimating
  • Agile Planning

Presented by skilled lecturers with extensive experience in the practical application of project management, the course includes examination coaching and practice using sample questions. Please be aware, this course also provides 28 Hours of Contact Education/Professional Development Units towards PMI PMP certification/re-certification

Prerequisites

  • The Agile Practitioners course is intended for anyone who expects to have a management or leadership role in an Agile project and is specifically built to support anyone who will be using the DSDM®Atern® method. Delegates are expected to have experience of team leading, project management, project assurance/support or user management. This course is not aimed at delegates new to Project management.

  • During the course you will be asked to provide written permission which enables QA to pass on your pass mark to your employee.

  • You must bring signed photo ID with you on any APMG exam (passport, driving licence, student card) as you will be asked to produce it by the invigilator prior to the exam. You must also be familiar with the APMG Terms and Conditions of Certification which can be found here on the APMG International website.

  • set up an Agile project
  • assign roles and responsibilities
  • create prioritized lists of requirements
  • define Increments and Timeboxes
  • manage a Solution Development Team
  • use Agile techniques
  • present the benefits of Agile approaches to senior management

Practitioner Preparation

Explanation of mechanics of Practitioner examination. Examination techniques. Samples of Practitioner questions. Question and answer session; Revision of major topics


Agile Foundation and Practitioner Examinations All delegates will sit the APMG Agile Foundation examination (a multiple choice paper) in the late afternoon of the third day of the course. Successful candidates will then be eligible to sit the Practitioner exam in the afternoon of the fourth day. Photo ID is required to take these exams.

Exam timing

  • The Foundation examination is taken during the afternoon on the third day
  • The Practitioner examination takes place at 14:00 on the last day and will last for 2 hours

Please Note: The last day (Day 4) will finish by 4:15pm after the conclusion of the Practitioner exam
