QA, the global training company that transforms performance
through learning, today announced that it has signed an exclusive
partnership agreement with Green Project Management Ltd to
deliver a range of fully accredited and globally recognised
sustainable project management courses.
The QA Green Project Management courses put sustainability at
the heart of the project management design process and will help
project managers consider sustainability in all aspects of project
or programme delivery. The course will cover elements such as
directing project outcomes towards energy efficiency, emissions
(carbon) reduction, water efficiency and waste minimisation, to
understanding how to make a real difference by having a sustainable
supply chain for project management.
Bill Walker, Commercial Director at QA, commented, "We are
delighted to announce our partnership with GPM Limited which builds
upon our existing relationship to deliver GPM courses in
Australia. Increasingly, the whole process of creating,
implementing, changing and ultimately decommissioning projects is
under pressure to be green throughout, irrespective of the project
deliverables. GPM led the way in offering the first global
accreditation in Green Project Management and its expertise has
been recognised at the highest levels, with GPM being named an NGO
partner of the United Nations Civil Society Division. QA
courses are available through our network of training centres and
at our clients' sites, enabling many more managers to gain the
necessary skills and expertise to deliver corporate sustainability
goals. This further enhances QA's position as the leading provider
of up-to-date project and programme management training and skills
development that enables organisations to gain a competitive
edge."
The demand for sustainable project management originally started
in the construction sector, where projects have to comply with
sustainability legislation. Project briefs across all business
sectors now mandate some element of sustainability.
Joel Carboni, Chief Executive Officer of GPM added, "We chose QA
as our global training partner as its corporate philosophy
compliments the vision that GPM has for the advancement of Project
Management and QA's reputation for quality of delivery is second to
none. Consumers and stakeholders are continuing to demand
that organisations establish socially and environmentally
responsible policies and plans, so project management needs to
evolve to meet these needs. Within the Project Management
Body of Knowledge, social responsibility has been largely centred
on individual integrity rather than placing emphasis on the
external environmental effects that result from projects. GPM's
mission is to address these needs by incorporating sustainable
green methodologies into project management practice to help
organizations more easily achieve their environmental goals with
quantifiable applications. Through our shared commitment to
make sustainability a cornerstone of project management, GPM and QA
are ensuring a better tomorrow, today."
The course is ideally suited for project or programme managers
who want to augment their current skill set with sustainable
methodologies, those responsible for implementing a sustainable
approach to project management in your organisation, or individuals
wishing to gain knowledge of how going green can enhance project
and programme outcomes.
